Presenter: Olga Hathaway; Consultant IV at Building Enclosure Science. Ms. Olga Hathaway is a building envelope consultant specializing in historic structures. She received a BS in Civil Engineering from Northeastern University and an MS in Building Conservation from Renesselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI). Olga has over 20 years of experience restoring building enclosures, yet remains approachable and eager to teach new consultants.
Presentation Description: The presentation will define historic versus existing structures and discuss how the distinction affects our approach. Topics addressed will include how to identify if a historic structure is listed or eligible for designation, what resources are available for performing research, and how a building’s historic status impacts our repair recommendations.
